This post is for Sunday, the day before the concert. If you want to read about *just* the concert, click here.

I also have a fan account of what I did Saturday if you care at all, here.
Waking up (SO EARLY) + getting in line
I got home from hotel stalking around 2AM (my roommates were still up) and they told me that they saw a post on Twitter saying the SM artists were having a party in Korea Town, although they weren’t sure if it was at that current time or after the concert. I reasoned it’s much more likely to be after the concert, and showered and went to sleep at 2:30AM.
Woke up at around 8AM but someone was using the shower so I wasn’t ready until 8:30AM, and I took time to eat breakfast too, so I didn’t get to the GA line until a little before 10AM (with a pit stop at Starbucks on the way there. SORRY YOONA AND PARTY!)
When I was walking toward 7th Ave, I saw the PINK SMTOWN BUS and was totally spazzing inside. I was wearing my blue heels so I couldn’t chase the bus and see the artists get off for rehearsal ;~; I called Yoona when I got there and apparently she went to chase the bus and saw some artists get off of it, but I couldn’t find the GA line until 20 minutes later. It was on the corner of 8th Ave and 33rd St, and Yoona wasn’t there so I was really confused at first. Then I recognized Patricia (Facebook profile pics ftw lol) and sat down with them. Turns out our group was the second group in line and was only behind the Canadian fans who got there around 4:30AM. I met Julia from Canada (couldn’t find her on Facebook after the concert =[ SO JULIA IF YOU SEE THIS FAN ACCOUNT PLEASE CONTACT ME! OR ANYONE WHO KNOWS HER PLEASE CONTACT ME TOO!) who also came to be in line at around 5AM and IS A KYUHYUN STAN <3333333 She later pointed out KYUHYUN PASSING BY TO ME but I was too slow T_T
PROBLEMS!! + leaving the line for my SFI SHINee cheer pack
By now the line had grown to about 40 people, and new arrivals were confused as to where the line started. This is where the whole line nightmare began. The head security guard told us (the front of the line) to get up and move down towards the intersection between 8th Ave and 31st St, and we listened to him, not knowing what he wanted to accomplish. Then the guards put up rails to separate the line from the regular pedestrians people walking past so that we didn’t block traffic, and from here on all hell broke loose. THE FUCKING ANNOYING FAT WHITE GUY (excuse my rage) said we were the END of the line and even though people who came at 4AM were DIRECTED BY SECURITY to wait at where they were. He wouldn’t listen to any of us no matter who went up and how much we argued and threatened that “If we don’t get back in place, NO ONE GETS IN.” So fucking stupid. And it was worse because he seemed to be in charge, and while all the other guards were quite reasonable they couldn’t do anything in that situation other than listen to us. The Canadian ELF argued for a really long time with him and somehow got to the new beginning of the line, and promised us that she would try to fix the situation for us too.
Yoona came back after this happened and as expected, became really upset like the rest of us. She went up to reason with the head security guy too, and by now it was almost 12PM so I needed to go pick up my SHINee Cheer Pack from SFI before they start giving them away (at 12PM). Hotel Pennsylvania was quite the nice hotel, and I thought that SM could have hosted their artists there since it’s right across from the venue. But the fact that they chose the W hotel does make more sense if the artists were going to be roaming around Times Square like that.
I got my cheer pack (which includes two uninflated balloons, a SHINee name tag, a small but bright lightstick, a SFI shirt, a SFI towel, and a SFI tote) and the staff told me that the towel and tote weren’t ready on time, so they were going to ship it to our homes afterwards (free though, which was nice). I wanted a towel to hold up at SHINee though =x I sold my shirt to the friend I met up with later so the picture only contains the balloons, name tag, and lightstick:
I returned to Radisson and put my stuff down and change into my flat boots since my feet were blistered already. After that I picked up my essentials (SJ + Soshi lightsticks, cards for autographs just in case, my heels so I can change into them inside the venue, camera). I COMPLETELY forgot my SJ-World towels (“Suju World Domination”, “Pull My Heartstrings”, “Be My Honey”) D: but thankfully Michelle ran them over to me literally a minute before they let us in for GA.
I met up with the friend from yesterday and went back to Hotel Pennsylvania to see if he wanted to buy some SHINee merch for his friend, but they were out of most things except for leftover lightstick + balloons + name tag combos that people didn’t pick up. Danny came too, and bought the pack for $10 so he has something for SHINee^^
Back to GA line
We left Danny (he has seated tickets so he doesn’t have to get in line until sound check later) and walked back to MSG. When we got there I saw my roommates and party and said hi to them~ Then I saw that the line was somehow fixed and the people who were supposed be in front were in front. I was like yay! And crept back into my place before the security guard saw me and kicked me out for cutting or something.
From then on it was straight waiting. I met JoAnn and a few others, and we practiced fanchants for a little bit. Then a few girls came by with Hello Jonghyun and Key banners so I asked for one of both. Sadly they didn’t have any Taemin ones :< Picture of the line:
By about 4PM Korean media like MNet, KBS, and SBS came around and asked fans to go out of the line to film segments with them. The Canadian ELF in front of us filmed a segment where they danced to Mr. Simple and they were actually featured on SMTown’s Facebook page:
After that MNet came to the front of the line and asked us to sing a song from our favorite group. It was agreed on that we were going to sing Sorry, Sorry. I was happily singing and being recorded when all of a suddenly Julia (who wasn’t being recorded) nudged me like crazy and looked like she was attempting to cover up a squeal. I didn’t understand what she was trying to say at first, but soon after I made out “Kyuhyun Kyuhyun Kyuhyun over there!!!!” I was like OMFG WHERE IS HE WIAEFAWIOEGPHWAEF I BETTER NOT MISS HIM AGAIN and I caught a glimpse of a guy’s back before he disappeared into the pathway around the corner TAT What bad luck I have. I totally screamed though and people were shushing me, and that probably got on tape so I really hope they cut it out (but that would mean part of the song would be cut out too since the fans were still singing it…) I hope I didn’t ruin the video for them x_x
Getting inside MSG
A little before 5PM, MSG staff in green blazers came by and opened the door to inside MSG. We were all like, “Is it time to go in yet?” One of the Canadian ELF kept asking the guy standing by the door “When will we be let in?” like about 10 times lol. I still hadn’t gotten my towels yet and were worried I wasn’t going to get them, but right before we were let in, Michelle miraculously arrived on time and handed me my 3 towels. THANK YOU SO MUCH MICHELLE!!!! IF YOU HADN’T DONE THAT I COULDN’T HAVE HAD ONE OF MY BEST MOMENTS IN THE CONCERT AT THE END DURING HOPE!!! I had just remembered I hadn’t eaten since 9AM, but I guess the adrenaline was keeping me going (last time I went so long without eating I puked and fainted a little in the bathroom after I tried to drink a smoothie to fill up my stomach a little D:)
We got in around 5:30PM and stood by the stairs to the ticketing people for about 15 minutes, all the while fidgeting and daydreaming how the concert will be and just generally not being calm at all. After ticketing they separated us into GA1, GA2, and GA3 with different-colored wristbands, and lined up before the escalators to the actual GA area. I fell behind by a few people because I wasn’t fast enough 😦 I changed into my heels here while waiting (which was dumb since I didn’t even need heels inside where I was right next to the rail) and we waited until a little after 6PM. Picture of the line now:
After that we were let in, and even though the staff stressed not to run everyone broke into really fast power-walking / almost-running up the two flights of elevators and into the correct doors for our respective GA sections. When I got into GA3 I saw about 10 people hogging up the middle of it and they were all taller than me, so it wasn’t a good idea for me to follow their suit. Yoona called me over to the right side of GA where we have a great view of the right end of the extended stage, so that if any artist comes to this side they would be right in front of our faces 🙂 This turned out to be a bad side, since Kyuhyun ended up going to the left side much more, but that’s for the concert fan account later.
Continued in the fan account for the actual concert here.
